We start off our assessments with a functional movement screening. This 7 exercise screen tests athletes stability, mobility, and flexibility through a broad spectrum of movements. This data allows us to identify and educate our athletes on areas of potential injury risk.
Utilizing the Dashr Lasertimer, we assess each athletes 10yd sprint time. This provides baseline speed data and visual feedback on where the athlete needs to improve their running technique.
We utilize vertical and broad jumps as assessments to measure an athlete's lower body power and explosiveness. This translates to speed, acceleration, jumping, throwing, and hitting power. All sports require some aspect of jumping with vertical or horizontal force application.
For our rotational sports, it's imperative to know how much power we can produce rotationally. We utilize 3 different MedBall throws and mph, with radar guns, to see where athletes are with power development.
