Jay grew up in Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina, where his passion for fitness began at a young age. His parents have owned and operated fitness centers on the Outer Banks since the early 1980s, instilling in him a strong foundation in health and wellness.
Jay graduated from First Flight High School in 2016, where he was a standout baseball player. He earned All-Conference honors all four years as a catcher and was named Conference Player of the Year in both 2015 and 2016.
He began his collegiate baseball career at Campbell University before a knee injury led him to transfer to East Carolina University, where he completed a Bachelor's degree in Health and Fitness.
In 2021, Jay moved to Virginia and completed a 500-hour internship with the Old Dominion University sports performance team, primarily working with the baseball program. He has also gained experience in a physical therapy clinic and as a personal trainer, working with a wide range of clients.
